He's 14. We have a routine.
I have to drop him off a block away from the movie theater, so that he can walk up like he got there himself and can meet up with his buddies, whose parents ALSO dropped THEM off a block away. When the movie's over, we have the surreptitious phone call and pick-up.
Threatening him with public embarrassment right now is the biggest weapon in my arsenal. I've found it to be an excellent motivator.

As for Toy Story 3, he's consented to see it with his grandmother, who lives outside the 'embarrassment danger zone'.
